The “Celebrate Our Seniors” program began in 2004 as an impromptu gathering of a few citizens to honor the accomplishments of Washington County senior citizens.  Although no specific individual was recognized at this first meeting, the focus was to provide free meals to senior citizens in general, to say “thank you” for their service (which often goes unrecognized), and to solicit community input on individuals to honor and celebrate in future programs.
