Rev. (Dr.) John D. Harris & First Lady Helen Harris.  Individually, Rev John Harris and Sister Helen Harris have made significant contributions to the betterment of the citizens of Washington County  and beyond.  As Pastor and First Lady of Mt. Rose Missionary Baptist Church in Brenham, their charitable efforts have understandably been focused on Mt. Rose MBC.  But as co-partners in the ministry of the Gospel to God's Kingdom on earth, they expanded their horizons beyond the church doors and spend just as much time focused on those in need. Thus, from leading the church and working diligently with its ministries to serving with the Brenham Housing Authority and New Beginnings Pregnancy Center, or organizing community health fairs and ministering to those in area nursing homes, Rev and Sis Harris have appreciably enhanced the spiritual, physical, emotional, and psychological well-being of the community's quality of life.
